'Fluid. Feminine. Unrestrained.' connects three contemporary artists through a push and pull of sensuality: decoding the relationship between the “feminine” and “nature”, to the “other” as core of the exhibition. Within painting, installation and film, 'Fluid. Feminine. Unrestrained.' presents a dualism of seduction and repulsion in works by Freya Douglas Ferguson, Anna Garrett and Caroline Milster.

Borders interrogated, surfaces magnified, bodies exposed.

Rooted in Feminist histories and Ancient Mythology, the running conceptual strand alludes to an oscillating dialogue between contemporary femininity and the “abject”. The artists re-question the historical construct equating women with nature, between monstrosity and the Feminine. Wilderness untamed?
