Watts Gallery - Artists in Residence

This Autumn artist Charlie Betts and I are undertaking a collaborative Artist Residency at Watts Gallery, Surrey. Our joint project will draw from the experience of being in the Limnerslease Woodland- the garden and creation of Mary Watts. Also feeding into our ideas will be the watercolour technique by Victorian painter Helen Allingham, whose exhibition at Watts Gallery coincides with our residency.
Experimenting yesterday in Limnerslease, it was the secret jungle-like hiding places within the rhododendron that drew me in, whereas Charlie was interested in the space created and structure of the tall trees. More to follow
